According to a press statement issued by spokesperson of Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS), the camp was brought under siege with the evil design, which is clear from the fact that the vehicles parked in the compound were extensively damaged due to heavy stone pelting resorted to by the mob. "The skeletal presence of security which kept firing in the air managed to keep the attackers at bay but has catalyst the fear and sense of insecurity among particular community. The Sabha has expressed grave concern over the naivety of the local authorities who could not anticipate this kind of a reaction in the wake of the killing of the dreaded terrorist who was carrying bounty of Rs ten lakhs on his head. Sabha members also lauded timely intervention of the higher authorities especially the Director General of Police K Rajendra. They added in view of the previous experience that soft targets are attacked to disrupt the Holy Amarnath Yatra the security establishment should have beefed up security at all such vulnerable places beforehand. The Sabha appealed to State Govt headed by Ms Mehbooba Mufti to take personal interest in the safety and security of the KP community. The sabha also appeals the mainstream politicians of the state including former Chief Minister Omer Abdullah to help in dousing the fire than fomenting it by tweets that are untimely, undesirable and unbecoming. |
