| Alleged RDD fraud: JE among two suspended, two attached over corruption charges | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, July 9: Taking cognizance of the directions given by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Doda with regard mal practices reported from various blocks of Rural Development Department Doda, the Assistant Commissioner (Dev) Doda has ordered immediate suspension of two of its officials including a Junior Engineer and VLW beside order attachment of GRS and I/C Junior Assistant.
According to reports, the action was taken after the surfacing of non existence of works executed by Rural Development Department Doda in Block Change, Bhalessa, Chilli Pingal, Jakyas & Khara falling under Sub Division Gandow of Doda District.
As per the details available with "Early Times" ACD Doda Susheel Kumar vide order No. ACDD/Estt./2016-17/8883-91 Dtd 8/7/2016 order suspension of JE Arshad Amin and VLW Shami Kumar, beside order attachments of GRS Rabia Parveen and I/C Junior Assistant Zahir Abbas in the office of ACD Doda.
"As per the telephonic instructions received from ADDC Doda (Chairman, Enquiry Committee regarding verification of works in Block Changa, Bhallesa, Chilli Pingal, Jakyas and Kahara), who conducted physical verification of works in Panchayat Changa-A, two employees JE and VLW have been placed under suspension with immediate effect while GRS of Panchayat Changa-A and Incharge Junior Assistant are attached in the office of the Assistant Commissioner (Dev) with immediate effect," reads the order.
The action of district administration comes in wake of massive protest held by the people of Gandoh Sub Division alleging mass scale embezzlements of funds in RDD Department and demanding an inquiry into the matter.
The issue was also raised on the floor of Assembly by Congress MLA from Inderwal who impressed upon government for constituting an inquiry committee to probe the allegations.
The official sources said that the preliminary inquiry conducted by ADDC Doda has established that the allegations leveled by the agitating people are genuine and thus required detailed probe. |
