Kathua, July 10:Brilliant performances guided 'Cut and Curve' Cricket Club Samba' to register berth in the final of the ongoing 'Jai Baba Birfa Nath Ji Premium League' tournament Jatwal Cricket ground. Samba team defeated Sangwali-Eleven by 4-runs. Former MLC Subash Chander Gupta gracing the occasion as chief guest inaugurated the final match after formal introduction with the players of both the teams in presence of organizers Rajesh Sharma, Amit Kumar and Varun. In the final match, Cut and Curve' Cricket Club Samba' after winning the toss decided to bat first. The team members displaying their batting talent scored 160 runs in 15 overs. In reply, Sangwali-Eleven failed in chasing the target in fixed overs by losing all wickets at score of 156 runs, thus lost the match by 4-runs. Umpires Sunil and Vishal conducted proceedings of the match. Subash Gupta honored the players of both the teams with trophies and medals. The guests while addressing the gathering appreciated the efforts of the organizers and expressed hope of organising such type of tournaments in future also. He exhorted upon the youth to come forward and channelize their energies in sports activities, urged upon them to refrain from smoking, Drugs, Liquor. Naresh Sharma ex-president MC Kathua, Dewan Khajuria, Devinder Singh, Sarpanch Vijay Tagotra, Jug Ram, Satpal Choudhary, Kant Kumar, Tarsem Singh, Brijeshwar Singh and Jai Ram, Raj Kumar Khajuria, Sardar Chanan Singh Sasan and large number of other people were present on the occasion. |
