CAPD to conduct enquiry against flour mill | Complaints of unhygienic methods of grinding | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, July 10: Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department has decided to conduct an enquiry against an Udhampur based Flour Mill engaged in grinding of flour meant for public distribution after the department received complaints of alleged unhygienic condition inside the premises of the mill. Several complaints lodged with the CAPD department, Udhampur alleged that M/s Udhampur Flour Mill, Jakhar is openly violating the prescribed government norms/rules and even the directions passed by the High Court with regard to observance of ensuring complete hygienic methods by all those units/ flour mills who are dealing with manufacturing / packing / grinding of food products. The complaints further alleged that it is a matter of grave concern and even tantamount to criminal offence that M/s Udhampur Flour Mill is openly indulged in using contaminated water of nearby Birmha nallah for washing the wheat being used for PDS flour. When contacted Assistant Director CAPD Udhampur, Aroon Naik said that a proper enquiry into the matter will be conducted and if the complaints received proved true then action under rules will be taken against the mill. |
