Two women drug peddlers held with intoxicants consignment | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 10: Police today claimed to have arrested two women drug peddlers alongwith huge consignment of intoxicants drugs (upto 1100 capsules) which was recovered from their possession in Sarwal area. Police have identified the accused as Manisha Devi wife of Lt Jagdish of Amphalla and Neha Devi wife of Dinesh of Qasim Nagar. "On specific information that two women allegedly involved in smuggling intoxicants in Sarwal area," a police team led by in-charge police post Sarwal, SI Kali Charan under the supervision of SDPO West Nikhil Rasgotra under operation 'Sanjeevni' launched by SSP Jammu raised a special naka at Sarwal. "During special naka, SI Kali Charan intercepted two women carrying two bags", said police spokesman, adding that during search of their belongings police recovered 1096 intoxicated capsules along with 20 intoxicated tablets from their possession." "Police team immediately arrested the duo and seized the consignment of intoxicants," police said. Police said that a case under NDPS Act has been registered against the women drug peddlers and questioning of the arrested is on to ascertain identity of other associates of the arrested. Police said that during questioning, it came to light that associates of the women drug peddlers were booked in drug peddling while more arrests are awaited. |
