Lakhanpur, July 10: J&K government that promised to facilitate Amarnath Pilgrimage but stranded pilgrimage for last 2 days has exposed all claims made by J&K government before beginning of yatra. Hundreds of pilgrims stranded at gate way of J&K, have to live on road without any facilities even of food & washroom facility.
Forest minister flagged off the yatra from Lakhanpur with assurance to provide apposite facilities by saying that first BJP government in J&K would never leave any stone unturned to make the yatra comfort and secure but declaration of J&K government to facilitate the yatra proved to be null & void within 48 hours of obstacles in continuity of the yatra.
Stranded pilgrims today staged protest demonstration against J&K government and separatists who allegedly used to raise obstacles during Amarnath Yatra every year that affected lakhs of pilgrims who moved J&K for holy cave.
The protesters said if J&K government can not control protest demonstrations in Kashmir and make the yatra smooth, it must be handed over to union government. They said J&K government can facilitate Hajj yatris but fails to make the Amarnath yatra smooth & comfort every year.
Gourav Aggarwal, a pilgrim from Bijnore, informed that thousands of pilgrims have been stranded at gateway of J&K and stayed without any basic facility that triggered resentment among them. He said J&K government has failed to provide facility at Lakhanpur. He informed that there was no inn/rest house, community kitchen, washroom or other basic facility, pilgrims stayed on road, difficult for them to stay here during incessant rain and large number of pilgrims.
Kirti Mishra, a pilgrim hailing from Kanpur, said its hard for women pilgrims to stay here at gateway of J&K without any arrangement for them. She said J&K government failed to arrange Amarnath pilgrimage and demanded due intervention of Union government to make it smooth. She said J&K government made big promises to facilitate pilgrimage but its stranded pilgrims better know what government facilitate at ground level.
The protesters said only a militant has been killed down, not a patriotic that triggered resentment in Kashmir. They said separatists must be careful about Kashmiri people whose livelihood is merely depend upon pilgrimage to holy cave. They demanded earlier continuation of yatra, facility at gateway of J&K.
