Army conducts workshop on health awareness

JAMMU, July 10: With the objective of increasing awareness of the locals of village Danna in district Rajouri about the importance of health and its impact on the society as whole organised a lecture named "Health is Wealth".
The lecture today was delivered by the Medical Officer of the local Territorial Army Battalion. Approximately 60 people from the village attended the lecture with full zeal and enthusiasm.
The people were sensitized about various small steps (including importance of Toilets, Vaccination, Tobacco consumption, drug abuse etc.) which if taken by society as a whole can bring about mammoth change in the health status of the country.
They were also briefed about the rising threat of lifestyle diseases and ways to curb them. The medical officer also interacted with the locals and answered all the queries related to health issues.
All the local people were thankful to Army for conducting such a lecture for them. Alam Din resident of villages said "It is a positive initiative taken by Army for the development of society as a whole".
