Influential eyes on poor man's land, family stages protest 7/10/2016 11:05:42 PM MS NAZKI Early Times Report Poonch, July 10: Alleging influential with the help his relatives moving in high circles is eyeing on the prime located land of a poor family in Ari village of Mendhar of Poonch, the aggrieved family today staged protest against police inaction. Jagdish Raj S/o Krishan Lal R/o Ari Village along with his family staged a protest demonstration against his brother Kuldeep Raj who with the help of some relatives having association with some senior police officers want to grab former's land measuring 33 kanals in Ari village. One of the aggrieved family alleged today when they went to Police Station Mendhar to register their complaint instead of the registering complaint the concerned officials not only harassed family of Jagdish Raj - the complainant but also thrashed them. Irked over said injustice, the family soon after coming out of the Police Station sat on hunger strike at Shaheed Yadgar Chowk Mendhar against the alleged police highhandedness and against the evil motives of his brother Kuldeep Raj who is keeping a eye on Jagdish's property. Later on Beopar Mandal Mendhar and Hindu Sanatan Dharm Sabha president Satish Sharma also joined protest and demanded justice for the victimized family. Local reports added a police party headed by SHO Anzar Mir reached the spot but failed to pacify the protesting family who didn't budge. Later SDPO Shahid Naeem came to the spot and assured them that action against person if found guilty will be taken accordingly. Meanwhile taking cognizance DDC Poonch MH Malik also directed Tehsildar Salam Din to verify the land status and demarcate the same besides furnishing details to his office within shortest possible time.
