PDP leaders upset as Govt prefers FB users to advisors | | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report Anantnag, July 29: Senior party leaders in People's Democratic Party are aghast about government's decision to engage a group of 'facebookers' as advisors and analysts, who according to them have failed to deliver during crisis. A group of party leaders in PDP are understood to have conveyed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti that she should have engaged experts and experienced people as advisors, analysts instead of those who are wasting their most of the time on social networking sites like Facebook. "Our government is paying hefty amounts to them for just remaining busy on facebook," a senior PDP leader said. He said that had government engaged experts and experienced people as advisors and media analysts instead of 'facebook users' the situation after the killing of Hizb Commander Burhan Wani would have been different. "We don't doubt the capabilities of our Chief Minister. She can singlehandedly control the situation but matter of the fact is that advisors play a main role as they have enough knowledge in their respective fields," he added. He revealed that Party leadership has conveyed to Chief Minister and hopefully effective steps would be taken in this regard in future. Interestingly, PDP led Collation Government had accommodated a few news reporters as media analysts. A TV reporter was accommodated as media consultant to JK government purely on political basis. Similarly reporter of a local newspaper and his friend were accommodated as media analysts. Each of them are drawing a huge amount as salary from the state exchequer evidently for using Facebook. On social networking sites like Facebook, trio can be seen sharing each other's posts mostly links of news portals. A senior leader revealed that their is no one in the party whom Chief Minister can consult or take advice from them. Pertinent to mention here, two senior most PDP leaders have maintained distance from the party since PDP formed government with BJP for the second time after the demise of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Both stayed away from the party's 17th foundation day function, celebrated yesterday in Kashmir and Jammu party headquarters respectively. He said that the leaders who can better advice chief Minister are disappointed with her and while as those in her cabinet haven't guts to do so. Insiders revealed that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has now roped in a group of bureaucrats to bring normalcy to state. "Since these so-called analysts failed to deliver, CM has now roped in some bureaucrats to restore normalcy," sources claimed. |
