Banihal observes complete shutdown | | | Tahir Mushtaq Early Times Report
Ramban, Aug 3: Following the footsteps of Kashmir division, tehsil Banihal of Jammu division also observed complete shutdown on the second consecutive day. The shutdown was called by the Beopar Mandal Banihal and Imam Jaima Markazi Masjid. Reports coming from Banihal said that effects of shutdown also visible on transport movement and all government and private education institutions, business traders besides some government offices and Bar Association Banihal also support the band call. It is pertinent to mention here that from the past 26 days the Kashmir Valley witnessed total shutdown after the killing of Hizb-Ul-Mujahidin commander Burhan Wani. whereas around 56 civilians has been killed while thousands injured by the security forces. Ironically, the state government has not taken up any initiatives to control the burning situation of Kashmir valley which is slowly covering Jammu division as well. During the shutdown there was no report of violence of any type. Police and CRPF personnels were deployed in Banihal town and on National Highway to prevent any untoward happening. Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) state president G A Mir said the situation of valley shows the totally failure of centre as well as state government. He further said that we have seen this first time that the ruling coalition government has not taking any serious step to overcome the problems adding that as many times before this type situation prevailed in which the then government successfully control the circumstances. He maintained that people sitting on the helm of affairs should take the stock of situation before and after these types of incidents, as no one from the present government come forward to maintain law and order, but instead of that they are making the situation more critical day by day. |
