JKSBOTE delaying exams indefinitely, students losing opportunities | | | Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 3: Following unwarranted delay on the part of the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of Technical Education (JKSBOTE) in conducting examinations for various semesters of all polytechnic institutions, the students are feeling harassed and dejected for last three months as their chances for getting admissions for higher studies this academic year are bleak. Sources told Early Times that due to lackadaisical approach of higher ups of JKSBOTE, thousands students are suffering a lot without their fault. "Students are in a limbo as their examinations, which were supposed to be held in May-June 2016 are being delayed month by month causing mental harassment to the students, "Sources stated. However, Secretary of JKSBOTE Er. Mahmood Ahmad Khan said that due to tension in Kashmir the exams are getting delayed. Now the Board is planning to conduct exams after August 15. On being asked about the reason to delay in conducting exams in May-June, he replied as 'we conduct exam in August "he stated. Contradictory the claims of Secretary, the students alleged that the higher ups of the Board were giving false information about the exams as last year, the exams were conducted on time. They also stated that throughout India the class work for various semesters had already started and the students appearing in final year exams, have lost the chance to get admission for higher studies. The callous attitude of the higher ups can be gauged from that the examinations forms for 2nd and 4th semester regular and re-appear students are yet to be filled which means students are going to lose this session. They further said the students are waiting desperately to appear for their examinations but the exams have been delayed on one or the other pretext. |
