Withdraw FIRs lodged during Amar Nath Ji agitation: Harsh | BJP-PDP lied to Jammu people | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 3: While the BJP-PDP Govt. withdrew the FIRs against 634 stone palters operating at the behest of anti nationals last month, it continues its prosecution proceedings against the nationalists who were booked under various cases during Sri Amar Nath Ji land agitation in Jammu alleged Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and Former Minister. As per press release, he pointed out that 404 FIRs were registered throughout the state during Sri Amar Nath Ji land row in the entire Jammu province of which 229 FIRs were registered in Jammu District alone. He said that during the last 8 years 169 FIRs were withdrawn which included 20 FIRs withdrawn during the last month. He regretted that 235 cases relating to Sri Amar Nath Ji land agitation were still being pursued by the state govt. in various forums including courts. He regretted that the said criminal cases registered during the said agitation continued to be pursued by the incumbent govt. as on date despite the agreement signed between 'Sri Amar Nath Ji Sangarash Sarmiti' and state govt. on 31st August 2008 incorporating assurance for withdrawal of all such cases. Flaying the BJP Ministers for their failure to ensure the withdrawl of all such cases, Mr. Singh deplored that the Agreement of 31st August 2008 drawn at the behest of their own party was being violated in their own govt. He said that majority of the BJP Ministers who were in the fore front of protests at the particular point of time in the said Agitation managed to ensure exemption from criminal proceedings thus making the poor, hapless and innocents as sacrificial lambs in the process and further failing to rake up their issues for withdrawl of FIRs in the cabinet. He regretted that 31st August agreement with the than govt. having been drawn up under the leadership of such BJP leaders who had cowardly abandoned the cause of the said Jammu youth after enthroning themselves to power. he further regretted that while ex gratia was paid to those killed in Kashmir during stone pelters agitation in 2010 and govt. further announcing compensation for 2016 victims, the martyrs of 2008 agitation were denied any kind of relief or ex gratia. He said that similar was the fate of announcement regarding compensation to the aggrieved traders of Jammu region who sustained huge financial losses during the 2008 agitation. |
