| MC fails to rein in illegal encroachments | | |

POONCH, Aug 11: It has become tradition in Poonch district to encroach in no construction zone areas of different departments and flood zone.
According to the sources many bureaucrats encroached in no construction zone of municipal area of Poonch town.
Sources said very near of bus stand Poonch and in the surrounding of Poonch fort (Qilla Poonch) many having political background have encroached in no construction zone. Very opposite of Annand Hotal Poonch many businessmen have constructed their shop in front of the eyes of administration.
Locals allegedly said that the administration may be involved in this illegal construction so, administration is not taking any initiatives in this regard. According to report there is a board pasted near Poonch Fort which shows " there is no construction zone upto 100 meter" of the fort, but this order of administration is not implemented yet on the ground level.
Locals said there are dozens of business points very closed to the front. They appealed to district development, if it is not involved to take strong action and dismantle the constructed shops and temporary business points. They alleged that Municipality officials are surely involved in this blunder, so they are supporting the encroachers in construction, as they are working during day time in front of their eyes. Mohd Rashid and Ghulam Abas has demanded strong action in this matter. |
