| 150 SC families suffer without power | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Aug, 17: Bharatiya Janta Party BJP, allegedly made tall claims for the development in the state including District Kathua and provide basic amenities to all section of the society but it appears that its claims exist in papers than at ground.
Hundreds of people belonging to schedule caste lambasted BJP in a protest here at Kathua when they were raising voice against BJP, PDD and district administration Kathua and demanding electric transformer in their locality.
Pertinently, 150 families comprising 3000 members have been badly suffering due to shortage of electric transformer in Chann Gran, 3 km from Kathua town for last fortnight but nobody from district administration, Power development department or District administration came to address their grievances after number of deputation called on all these public offices.
Ashwani Kumar who led the protest informed that electric transformer defunct for last 15 days affected not only domestic purposes but also students' education, electric appliances, drinking water supply.
He said few children fell ill in scorching heat and its hard for them to survive but when the issue raised before concerned department, officers gave deaf hear.
Roop Lal, another villagers said nobody redressed demand and installed transformer as population belong to SC community that entire ignored voluntarily. He said MLA Kathua also failed at all ground to provide basic facilities to its citizens.
It is reported that electric appliances got defunct, confectioners and farmers and businessmen also affected due to shortage of power supply.
The protesters demanded replacement of electric transformer and power supply failing which they threatened to block national highway. |
