BJP MP, MLC violate law during Tiranga rally | Jugal, Vibodh ride bike without wearing helmet | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 17: BJP leaders violating rules by riding the motor cycles without wearing a helmet during the ongoing Tiranga yatra have put the "disciplined" BJP in tight spot as its leaders seem to have no respect for the laws of the land. The Tiranga yatra is being held in connection with the celebration of 70th Independence Day from August 9 to 23 across the country. It will cover almost entire country and all the senior leaders including the union ministers, ministers in BJP ruled States and MPs in their respective constituencies have been asked to participate in the rally . However the Party has come under severe criticism from opposition for violating the rules and regulations during the Tiranga yatra. Even police have failed to take the cognizance of the same. While two union ministers in Rajasthan were seen leading the Tiranga yatra on motor bike without wearing the helmet the senior BJP leader and Union Minister Venkahia Naidu was also seen leading such a rally without wearing the helmet a few days back. In J&K State BJP senior leader and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma who led the Tiranga rally in Jammu-Poonch constituency today followed the footsteps of his senior leaders and was also seen leading the rally without a helmet and it was not only Jugal but other leaders of the party, including MLC Vibodh Gupta, who were riding the motorcycle without wearing a helmet. This simply shows the scant respect for the law of the land by the lawmakers themselves and when the law makers themselves fail to respect the law of the land how can the common man be punished for the same. This way the lawmakers and the leaders of the party have themselves set a wrong precedence hence the law enforcing agencies will be unable to take action against the common masses travelling on motor bikes without helmet otherwise the government has to clarify why two kind of laws exist in the country one for ordinary people and other for the VVIPs. The BJP leaders act has also made the mockery of the recent statement of the Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to make the traffic rules more stringent and effective so that there is no violation of the same on roads. Gadkari had gone to the extent saying that no leniency will be shown even to influential people including VVIPs but what action the authorities would take against the BJP MP Jugal Kishore and other lawmakers in the State who were seen riding the motor bikes in Rajouri during Party's Tiranga rally without wearing a helmet. Though the administration is tightlipped over the same but the people and opposition parties demand that they be booked under the law of the land. It may be recalled that violation of traffic rules not only in JK but in entire nation is taking a high toll daily and many precious lives are lost due to negligent driving and violation of traffic rules. But how can the same be contained when the lawmakers themselves violate the traffic rules regulations in the country. |
