MHA asks security agencies to scan bank accounts of separatists, others | Kashmir unrest a big money spinner! | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 17: Security agencies have prepared a list of separatists whose bank accounts would be scanned in coming day as Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has taken a serious note about the inputs that nearly Rs 60 Crore were pumped into Kashmir to trigger present unrest, sources told Early Times on Wednesday. "It's an open secret that separatists get the funds from Pakistan through Hawala channels and other means. But this time around besides separatists many new players have received hefty amounts from across the Line of Control (LoC)," said a source. He said, "Miscreants who are enforcing shutdown in streets across Kashmir are history sheeters and criminals, who can do anything for the sake of money. Present unrest is completely different from 2010. Police and security personnel are dealing with highly indoctrinated miscreants. There is no doubt about the fact that money is a playing a big role in the present Kashmir unrest." Sources said that militants joining protesters has become one more headache for the security forces as these militants initially led the protests and directed the mobs towards the camps of security forces and police stations. "As the protests are dying down across Kashmir the miscreants have changed their strategy. These miscreants move in small groups in volatile areas and ensure that shutdown is enforced and people are threatened." Since Tuesday authorities have enforced night curfew in many areas as the separatists have asked people to come out of their homes and stage a sit-in on roads. "Separatists were asked by their handlers to change their protest calendar to help the miscreants on field to keep the pot boiling even after August 15 (Independence- Day) celebrations are over as people were hoping that situation would improve after August 15. The 40 day long shutdown has made the people tired and they are sick of these calendars and protest programmes." Sources said, "The MHA asking the security agencies to scan the accounts of the people who are playing into the hands of Pakistan would help the sleuths to reach out to the people who are constantly spending money on everyday basis to keep the pot boiling. People who are out on streets and are pelting stones belong to very low strata of the society and have no stakes in normalcy." They said, "The stone pelters are being paid on day to day basis and the people who are orchestrating these protests are playing dirty tricks by fomenting trouble in different areas across Kashmir. From south Kashmir their focus has shifted to central Kashmir." He said, "Pakistan has asked its henchmen to ensure that life remains paralyzed during day and in the evening Pak sponsored militants have been asked to carry out the attacks on security forces. On Tuesday evening militants attacked a Police Station at Kakpora Pulwama in south Kashmir where protests have died down, while militants attacked an Army camp in north Kashmir's Baramulla area on Wednesday morning. Baramulla has not witnessed any protests during the past 40-days. In Srinagar they have hired the goons and criminals who have become ring leaders and are harassing people who dare to come out of their homes. Money is playing a big role and channels need to be choked to restore normalcy in Kashmir." |
