50% revenue affected at toll plaza Lakhanpur during Kashmir turbulence: Dy Excise Comm | | | Kathua, Aug 17: Deputy Excise Commissioner Lakhanpur Rajesh Sharma today expressed concern over Kashmir turbulent and 7 weeks long disturbance in state. He disclosed that 50% revenue affected this year during less movement of loaded vehicles across the gateway of J&K. It is reported that Excise & Taxation department expected 11-12 crore additional revenue this year but turbulent in state affected business badly. Commissioner informed that department collected 17% extra revenue in first three months of this year but growth continually declined thereafter. The officers informed that most of the revenue is being collected through loaded vehicles that graph was 17000 till first six month of last year that fell at 9800 in first half of this year. He said fruit business also affected as movement of vehicles loaded with fruits are not upto the mark . The officers wished to make the disturbance smooth to enhance business in the state. It is also reported that Amarnath Yatra was also affected due to Kashmir turbulence. Low graph in collection of revenue at Lakhanpur would affect treasury of the state in days to come, the commissioner added. |
