KVK Reasi organizes Parthenium Day 8/17/2016 11:12:27 PM Early Times Report reasi, Aug 17: Krishi Vigyan Kendra(KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu(SKUAST-J) today organized Parthenium Day here at Government Migrant Middle School, Talwara . More than 200 school children and seven school teachers participated in it. The programme was inaugurated by Dr Banarsi Lal, Incharge of KVK, Reasi.He gave a detail account on Integrated Parthenium Management and said that the Parthenium hystero-phorus (congress grass) is a poisonous, pernicious, problematic, allergic, aggressive and deadly weed which is posing a serious threat to human beings and livestock. The KVK scientists demonstrated the eradication techniques of Parthenium and participants were motivated to uproot/eradicate the Parthenium from their school and village. In this programme printing material regarding Integrated Parthenium Management was provided to the participants.
