JKEDI starts 5 training programmes in Jammu division | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Tuesday started five fresh training programmes for 225 aspiring entrepreneurs including women in different districts of Jammu division. The three-week Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs) under Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS) and Youth Start-Up Loan Scheme (YSLS) began at five district centers of the institute. On first day of the training programmes, 37 candidates including 11 females registered their names for the training programme in Jammu district, while 45 registered in Udhampur district, 51 in Rajouri, 48 in Ramban and 43 in Kishtwar. The EDPs are modeled for manufacturing, services, and agri-allied sectors and the aspiring entrepreneurs have chosen various activities to start their entrepreneurial journey. During the EDPs the candidates are motivated to be job providers than job seekers. JKEDI through its training programmes aims at providing enterprise-led livelihoods by imparting training, sectoral exposure, financialand market linkage, hand holding and mentoring support to aspiring entrepreneurs. Speaking at the inauguration, JKEDI officials in different training programmes called upon the participating youth to take proper advantage of various entrepreneurship development schemes being implemented by the institute so that the problem of unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir can be addressed. |
