Madhav to teach ideology to J&K BJP ministers | Training Camp, Katra | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 14: What an irony! Those who themselves are 'ideologically bankrupt and corrupt' are to teach ideology to ideologically ill-equipped state BJP leaders and J&K BJP ministers in the Mehbooba Mufti Government and not for one day, but for three long day. The very fact that the party high command has decided to undertake such an exercise itself indicates that the BJP ministers and leaders are not intellectually and ideologically sound and that they need considerable amount of lecturing so that they know what the party is, what it stands for and what is its ideology. But what is even more ridiculous is the fact that J&K BJP ministers and party leaders will be educated by those who themselves are not really known for their intellectual and ideological credentials and those who do not know A, B and C of what J&K is, what is its history and what is its demographic and geographical profile. The point is that the J&K BJP ministers and party leaders will gather at the holy town of Katra for three long days from September 15 to 17, where they will be taught ideology by three national general secretaries Ram Lal, national general secretary organization, Ram Madhav, in-charge J&K and the architect of the PDP-BJP agenda of alliance, and Murlidhar Rao. According to insiders, these three national general secretaries "will impart instructions to the J&K BJP ministers and senior party leaders on the party's core ideology, core issues and programme". "Such an exercise has become absolutely imperative considering the fact that the BJP ministers' performance in the Cabinet meetings and the legislature was far from satisfactory and that they only brought shame to the party by not asserting their position and authority," sources further said. Two factors have, according to sources with the party, "compelled party high command to depute three national general secretaries to Jammu" and "these included (1) imposition of 12.5 per cent Jaziya on chopper services to Mata Vaishno Devi and other Hindu religious shrines and (2) the approval by the Cabinet of Transfer of Property Act". The whole exercise seems to be funny. Funny in the sense that there is nothing left in the party that could be termed as "core issue". The BJP stitched alliance with the PDP only after throwing to the wind all of its core issues. The fact of the matter is that the BJP of today is as secular as the Congress and similar other outfits and that there is nothing that is not common between the BJP and other secular parties. Besides, there is no difference between the BJP and the Congress and similar other parties as far as their attitude towards Jammu and Ladakh is concerned. The BJP is as anti-Jammu, anti-Ladakh and anti-refugees as the Congress and other secular parties are. The very fact that the BJP has forged an alliance with a party that claims that the "agenda of alliance contains everything that the PDP wanted to achieve" call the BJP's bluff and establish that the Katra congregation of the BJP would be no more than be a picnic. |
