NMC demands special budgetary package of Rs 9000 crore 9/25/2016 11:32:18 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 25: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC)President Subash Shastri today appealed to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who recently visited J and K as head of all party delegation to take up the issue with Prime Minister for provision of Rs 9,000 crore of special budgetary package to ward off expenditure on regularization of nearly 61,000 daily rated workers working in various departments of the J&K State and also implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission report in favor of state government employees and pensioners, since both the issues are of sensitive nature and effect the livelihood and moral of the salaried class including one lace pensioners and sixty one thousand daily rated workers. Addressing a well attended NMC Workers meet here,Shastri pointed out that about sixty percent of the total population of the state connected with the salaried class, pensioners and daily rated workers and their long pending issues which requires redressal without any delay. Shastri said, "Since the resources of the State Government are limited, the National democratic alliance (NDA) Govt.at the centre should arrange such exemplary grant for the regularization of this utility workforce and payments on account of revision of pay based on recommendations of Seventh Pay Commission report so that long pending demands of the state Govt. employees and pensioners are settled once and for all." Shastri disclosed that the NMC has already submitted a memorandum in this regard to the recently visited All Party Delegation adding that the State as well as Central Governments cannot ignore the plight of the salaried and working classes who are efficiently manning the public utilities at very nominal costs.
