Mehbooba takes on her Ministers! | 'I know who worked and who holidayed during turmoil' | | Peerzada Ummer
Early Times Report
Srinagar, Sept 25: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in a high level meeting of the PDP Legislators and Ministers chaired by her, took a jibe at some PDP leaders over leaving their people in lurch during two and a half months of turmoil and lamented that she was privy to the activities of all legislators and ministers during the pressing time for her Government. "Please do not live in fool's paradise that I do not have information about your whereabouts. I know what each one has been doing during the unrest period and what role has been played by whom," Chief Minister told her Cabinet Ministers in a closed party meet held at her residence. Sources privy to the meeting told Early Times that Chief Minister looked more confidant and assertive in her words while she emphasised over the need to establish constant touch with the masses. "While she hailed the efforts of many of her colleagues in dousing the flames that engulfed the valley since July 8, the Chief Minister also took a jibe at some party leaders over going into the hibernation while they needed to be amongst their people," said a party insider. The meeting, according to sources, lasted for several hours in which party leaders apprised the Chief Minister about the efforts being taken by the party in pacifying the present situation and what measures have been taken at the party level in providing a sigh of relief to the masses who have been reeling under the continuous unrest since the killing of the Hizb militant Burhan Wani. Sources also revealed that the chief minister asserted before her cabinet colleagues that the top priority of the governance must be to ensure that common people don't suffer at any level. "She took review of almost every department from her cabinet colleagues and stressed for the people friendly measures," says a party leader. In view of the recent resignation tendered by the former PDP rebel and MP Tariq Hameed Karra, the party leaders discussed threadbare how some elements within the camp tried to fish in the troubled waters by hoodwinking the public opinion. Sources said that the Chief Minister rejuvenated the cadre and inspired it to work rigorously on ground to get the things back in order. |
