| Baba bandha Singh Bahadur club organizes hockey match | | |

Poonch, Sept 25: Baba bandha Singh Bahadur club organized a hockey match in the memory of late Indian Hockey great Major Dhyanchand at Higher Secondary School ground here.
The match was played between Bandha Singh Bahadur hockey club and Higher Secondary School Club in which the former team beat the later by 4-2. Senior BJP leader Pardeep Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion and Principal Girls Higher Secondary School Narinder Mohan Suri was guest of honor.
The match was organized under the chairmanship of NIS Hockey Coach Matinder Pal Singh.
Large number of people came to ground the witness the hockey match. Principal Narinder Mohan Suri, while speaking on the occasion said that Poonch Hockey has lot of talent and youngsters need good coaching skills.
He praised Coach Matinder Pal Singh for his huge efforts in preparing young hockey players for the future of J&K Hockey.
BJP leader Pardeep Sharma who was chief guest on the occasion shed a light on the life of Major Dhyanchand. He appealed the young hockey player to follow the life history of Major Dhyanchand if they want to become ambassadors of hockey.
Pardeep Said, "I am regular watching coach Matinder Pal Singh for several years and he is really doing a great service for Poonch hockey.
His discipline, hard work and dedication inspire me a lot and I am hopeful that youngsters under the coaching of this young NIS coach will learn a lot" added "the dedication of Matinderpal Singh has attracted everybody in Poonch and he deserves full backing of J&K Hockey association in the best interest of future of J&K Hockey".
Those who were present on the occasion were Kewal krishan, Daljeet Singh, Devinder Dabur, Damanpreet Singh, Prem Parkash luthra, Ajay Uttam and others. |
