| JKTF holds meet, chain hunger strike to begin from Sept 26 | | |

Jammu, Sept 25: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum Jammu was held today under the Chairmanship of District President of Jammu District Darshan Kumar Sharma.
In the meeting discussion was held regarding the proposed call of 72 hrs chain Hunger Strike organized by the JKTF in the premises of Directorate of School Education Jammu w.e.f. 26th Sept. to 28th Sept. 2016.
In the first batch teachers of JKTF unit Jammu will sit on hunger strike on 26th Sept. at 10.30 a.m.
The forum appealed to the JKTF members to participate in the hunger strike and show their solidarity with teaching fraternity.
Earlier the JKTF had a massive protest demonstrative in the front of the Directorate of School Education and also held a press conference to highlight the grievances of the teaching community.
The Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum had given two days ultimatum to the education authorities to put the things in order and modify all the genuine and deserving cases.
In order to give continuity to our struggle, JKTF has announced the three days Hunger Strike programme and appealed to the members of Teachers Forum to make it a grand success.
The leaders criticized the anti-teachers policies of the Govt. as a large number of Masters/Lecturers were transferred by violating all the existing norms as well as transfer policy thereby resorting to favoritism and pick and choose policy thereby denying the opportunity to those who had legitimate claims. |
