BJP MP's area without water | Paloura residents decry Manhas's silence | | Arun Singh Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 28: The tall claims of the BJP to provide the basic amenities to the people and mitigate their sufferings have proved to be "blatant lies," in a glaring instance about BJP leaders being least bothered about the sufferings of Jammu people, the Paloura area, where the BJP MP Shamsher Singh Manhas stays has been without water for the past one week. Sources told Early Times that nobody from the PHE department has visited the area and the powerful Rajya Sabha MP Shamsher Singh Manhas has made no attempt to intervene to help the people. Shockingly the adamant attitude of the concerned Junior Engineer PHE has put the people of the area in great distress. Whenever residents contacted the JE he expressed his helplessness citing shortage of manpower and obliquely denied help to the people. They said that JE gave argument that presently he had only one employee under his disposal for opening the water supply and had to cater to vast area and it was not possible for him to open the supplies timely. Moreover, some employees of the PHE department are demanding Rs 200 for providing them water supply through water tankers which has irked the residents. Residents flayed BJP government for its mis-governance and said that if the area of a senior BJP leader is facing acute water shortage then one can imagine the plight of other areas in Jammu. Sources said that residents have expressed their abhorrence toward BJP saying that they made big mistake by casting their vote in BJP's favour. Locals said that they have been left with no other choice other than greasing the palms of the PHE inspector. |
