Jammu, Sept 30: A plantation drive was organized at MBSCET today in collaboration with Eco-Riders. The objectives of the drive was to make people aware of the hazards of pollution, to enhance the horticulture in J&K State, to educate and motivate the students at their tender age as well as the common masses the significance of their role in protecting the environment. The drive was inaugurated by Sole Trustee, Mahant Manjit Singh ji by planting a sapling. Principal MBSCET, Dr Anjani Kumar emphasized students to participate actively in this endeavor and inculcate awareness in their respective regions so that more and more people join hands together to take forward the mission of protecting environment. Vote of thanks was presented by Davinder Singh, a senior member of Eco Riders. According to press release, Eco Riders stated "We are trying to involve the maximum number of students in our environment saving drive. It is important to plant trees to maintain the ecological balance. The trees are an effective way to prevent global warming and reduce pollution." Prof A S Sudan, Prof Anfrik Singh, Prof Parveen Singh, S H S Gill, Heads of Departments, faculty members and students were present on the occasion. |
