Rajouri people hail 'surgical strikes', say teach lesson to 'stubborn Pak' | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Sept 30: Hailing the Modi led central government for launching surgical strikes on terror launch pads situated in Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK), the inhabitants of border villages in Rajouri district today described it as a bold step taken by the Union Government against the Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Pertinently the said surgical operation was carried out by the Indian forces on Thursday under which seven militant "launch pads" along Line of Control (LoC) were targeted. While welcoming the initiative from central government, the people of border district which once also got infested with Pak sponsored militancy have appealed to the Prime Minister to go for decisive action to solve the Kashmir dispute forever by teaching a lesson to our neighbor country. "We have faced many difficulties during three wars with Pakistan," said Roshan Lal resident of Kalsian border village, further adding, "even before cease fire agreement people in border districts had faced unprovoked heavy shelling and firing from across the border which took toll of precious human lives and damaged property" said. Meanwhile fear has gripped the villagers living in villages very close to Line of Control (LoC) about their future after the tension of the Line of Control. "Though Army had provided the tents but displacement is unfortunate, we want Indian to end this once for all, Mohd Farooq of Kampla a border village. He added people have packed their necessary day to day items including ration and others assorted items and now are waiting for the signal from the administration for shifting to safer places. Taking precautions the authorities have announced all the schools in border belt in Nowshera, Sunderbani & Rajouri sectors till Friday and order can be extended in case of any border skirmishes or exchange of firing. Meanwhile Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri held several meetings with the district, sector and tehsil officers and directed them to make every possible arrangements including identification of places, arrangements of basic facilities like power, water & ration in case of migration from the border villages. "Our priority at present is to made available every possible safe place for the migrants of border villages in case of any cross LoC shelling targeting civilian areas in the border belts. We will review the construction of underground bunkers whenever the situation become normal," said Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Deputy Commissioner When contacted Harbans Lal , SDM, Nowshera said, "Twenty five villages have been identified from where people can be shifted to safer places." "Out of which about twenty five thousand from five villages will be shifted on priority basis that too within two days" he added.. He also said that requirements in regard to tents and etc have already been placed with the Deputy Commissioner in case there would be no accommodation in the buildings. A senior officer said that for the time being the people will be shifted to the nearest safer places/buildings .In case the enemy resort to heavy machine gun fire contingent plan has been kept in place to take them out of the range of artillery fire. |
