Guards, watchers assist locals to encroach forest land 10/6/2016 10:23:01 PM MS Nazki Early Times Report Poonch, Oct 6: It is a matter of grave concern that forest guards and watchers have been allegedly helping the locals to encroach upon the forest land and raise constructions on it in Nar area of Mendhar tehsil sources said here today. According to sources, some forest guards and watchers have been allegedly helping some locals to encroach upon forest land in compartment No. 152/153 under Khasra No. 1477 in Nar forests of Mendhar measuring over one hundred Kanals and simultaneously raising the concrete constructions on it besides assisting in green felling. Sources said on the complaint of some residents of the area the then district Forest Officer (DFO) Poonch, Dr Syed Nadeem Hussain had transferred three guards namely Mohd Sadiq. Gulam Murtaza and Mohd Bashir and two watchers namely Mohd Hussain and Mushtaq Ahmed from their respective beats to check their involvement in facilitating encroachments in lieu of monetary benefits. Since the DFO Dr Syed has been transferred from the Poonch, Early Times has learnt from reliable sources that the new DFO Poonch Anwar Hussain Shah has called all the three guards and two watchers back to their place of posting vide his order No. DFO/PFD/1961-65 dated 1-10-2016 on the directions of Minister of forests revoking the earlier order of transfer with in only 4 months.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
