Abandoned Pathanateer Health Centre calls for 'attention' | | | MS Nazki Early Times Report Mendhar, Oct 6: Construction of the building of Health Centre in Pathanateer in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch was started some five years ago but it was left abandoned half way and still is mocking the claims of state government to provide due health care to its subjects even in far flung areas. Locals said the construction of health centre was started some five years ago but the executing agency left the work in midway reasons better known to the agency. Locals alleged that authorities reportedly have made full payments to contractors who abandoned works in half way and why the executing agency adopted the mute spectators' approach towards this vital case reasons better known to officials at helms. Sources said a backward village Pathanateer in of Mendhar Tehsil still is suffering in health care courtesy the lackadaisical approach of official at health department and the other departments. "Locals have to travel nearly 22 kilometres to reach Sub Divisional Hospital (SDH) for treatment despite bad road connectivity," they lamented. "As there is no body to look after this under construction building and some miscreants have even started stealing the bricks and other materials resulting into the building in dilapidated condition, locals alleged. "One fails to understand as how the full payment was made against unfinished work which is a million dollar question and needs to be probed thoroughly, said Tahir Khan, adding, "we demand an inquiry in the matter in which some top health officials allegedly have hands in glove." |
