Border people flay Union Minister Demand plots in safe zones, bunkers 10/6/2016 10:24:17 PM Early Times Report Kathua, Oct 6: A large number of people hailing from border areas today jointly registered protest against false promises made by a senior BJP leader and Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet. Ashok Sharma, a local leader of border people led the protest at Maniyari, zero line of International Border at Hiranagar sector. While addressing the protesters, Sharma said, BJP especially the minister once toured the border areas during cross border shelling and assured 5 marla plots to each family hailing from border area in safer areas and construction of bunkers in their houses so that people could migrate in safer place during any tensed situation along International Border. He said, " The minister befooled people to secure votes as nothing has been constructed or allotted till date." Veero Devi, a local said, "The government made no arrangements for the people who were ordered to migrate from their native places along the border. The government should pay due attention towards border people and allot permanent residence for border people in safer place." The protesters informed that border people approached the minister and had reminded him about his public announcement but he didn't pay any heed.
