IAC bats for elections in migrant camps | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 6: India Against Corruption (IAC) during a meeting held here today asked the state government to hold elections in all Kashmiri migrant camps in Jammu to pave way for proper representation of KPs for the redressal of their problems. While highlighting the demands of the community social activist Sunil Pandita said taht Kashmiri migrants camps election was earlier notified vide No. RRCM/PA/11/550 dated 23.11.2011 but could not be conducted for the reasons best known to the men at helms, but the time is now condusive to hold Panchayat/ward elections in all the camps adding Kashmiri migrants have been suffering a lot at the hands of so called leaders for the last 26 years now they want to choose the representatives of their choice who can be able to communicate with state and central government sfor redressal of their grievances, Sunil further added. Participants endorsed the demand of holding elections in the cmaps of migrants during the meeting and resolved. If authorities failed to announce the same, activists of IAC will come on roads and hold protest demonstrations against the government. Those who were present in the meeting include Sunil Raina, Sanya Pandita, Rajinder dhar and others. |
