Surrop Raina's book "Koshur Batt Wazwan" released | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 14: A book, first of its kind on the preparation of special Kashmiri Pandit cuisines written by well-known author Surrop Raina was today released during a press conference organized by All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) for the lovers of Special Kashmiri Pandit food prepared for marriages and parties. This special book on a special topic covering all most all the vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes of Kashmiri Pandits has been written by Surrop Raina to help people in general and house wives in particular to prepare dishes like professional Kashmiri Pandit cooks and satiate the taste buds of their dear ones. The book has been aptly titled "Koshur Batt Wazwan to differentiate between the Kashmiri Muslim Wazwan and Kashmiri Pandit wazwan and to keep the tradition of rich food making of KPs alive in exile. The book has been written in Hindi and Urdu languages to cover wider audience particularly Jammuites and others who love Kashmiri food and want to prepare it at home for parties and marriages. The 123 page book delves in detail about the special Kashmiri Pandit food preparation at home without being dependent on professional cooks. Speaking on the occasion Surrop Raina said that it was his dream to spread the rich cultural tradition of Kashmiri Pandits to wider section of the society as no such detailed book on Kashmiri Pandit food preparation was written by anyone in Jammu and Kashmir as yet. Well known Journalist and National Spokesperson APMCC King C Bharati introduced the author and the book and thanked Surrop Raina for writing such a wonderful book to keep rich Kashmiri Pandit cultural tradition alive by keeping a first hand record of how to prepare special Kashmiri Pandit dishes with professional touch. |
