| Udhampur admin initiates action against erring patwari | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Oct 14: The district administration has ordered a legal action against a patwari for allegedly misusing his official position and dereliction of duty.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana, who is also District Vigilance Officer, vide order No Compt/DVO/126/300 of October 14, 2016, directed the SHO to lodge an FIR against the patwari of PH Londna Rathian.
The action has been taken against the patwari on the complaint of an NGO, alleging therein that the patwari had prepared fake records for the issuance of ST certificates in favour of Riaz Ahmed and Sarfaraz Ahmed, both sons of Mohammad Shafi 'Marasi' of Londna Rathian.
Both the applicants had also filed affidavits deposing that their caste was Gujjar and also indicated their caste as Gujjar in the application.
The order stated that after the perusal of the revenue record, it was found that the patwari had only annexed the record of those khatas where the caste of the applicant was shown as Gujjar and didn't enclose the record of those khatas where the caste was recorded as Marasi, which clearly indicated that he had not only misled the naib-tehsildar and tehsildar concerned but also favoured and benefitted Riaz and Sarfaraz in obtaining the ST certificates.
One of them has been appointed as Prosecuting Officer on the basis of the 'fake' ST certificate. |
