| Nomadic community leads miserable life: Hakla | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Oct 16: Expressing serious concern over the plight of nomadic Gujjars and Bakarwals who are deprived from the basic amenities by the authorities, Shamsher Hakla Poonchi a prominent Gujjar leader and intellectual today urged the Government to provide all basic facilities to nomadic community, In a statement issued here today he said that these helpless people were leading a miserable and hard life and being nationalists to core, Government should take effective steps in providing benefits of all welfare schemes to them launched from time to time. Hakla further said that these people are guarding the borders of the country in the J&K State and have also played a remarkable roll in this regard right from partition of the country. He said that problems of these helpless people have been compounded. He appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to find an everlasting solution to the problems in Kashmir so that the people living on borders don't get disturbed in future. He also demanded political reservation to the Gujjar Bakerwal community in the Legislative Assembly and Counsel. |
