Banda Singh Bahadur's birthday celebrated | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Oct 16: The 346 birth anniversary of first Sikh General, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur today celebrated with fervor and enthusiasm by the members of all the communities at his birth place in Rajouri town under the banner of Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee Chatti Patshahi (GPCCP) Rajouri. Baba Banda Singh Bahadur was born in Rajouri as Lachman Das on October 27, 1670 in the family of Ram Dev Bhardwaj a poor farmer, near Mini Sports Stadium. Sardar Nirman Singh, former president CPGPC said that the Gurudwara will be constructed with a cost of about 3 crores and all the money will be arranged by Kar Seva Committee which is constructing Gurudawaras in the country and other parts of the world" said Sr Nirman Singh former president, GBSCP. The title of Bahadur on Banda (Madho Das) and made him his deputy with full political and military authorities and also provided advisory council of five Khalsa and 25 soldiers as body guard. Guru Govind Singh ji also provided a prescript (Hukamnama) written by him instructing Sikhs to join Banda Bahadur in his national war against Mughal tyranny .Guru ji also give Banda Bahdur his own sword, green bow and five arrows from his quiver. |
