HC to hear PIL on exams postponement on Thursday | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 25: The state high court is likely to hear on October 27 a PIL, seeking postponement of class 10 and 12 exams till March 2017. Sources said that a bench had been constituted by the high court's registry to hear the PIL. The petitioner association has pleaded that government be ordered to take steps for completing syllabus of students to complete practical work in the classes. The petitioner also sought directions to the government for making the situation conducive for exams. It was submitted that there had been only 84 working days in the academic session in which students had completed not more than 40 of syllabus. "In 2014, when worst floods hit Kashmir only 7 pc schools were affected but the government had deferred exams till March 2015. Due to the prevailing situation, the government has written to Election Commission to defer Anantnag by-polls but is hell bent to conduct exams. It appears that the state is more concerned for smooth conduct of polls but has made examination a point of prestige by intending to use the students and examination for scoring political points," the students said. |
