'Alluring' Darbar Move packages drawing employees to offices | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 25: As the countdown for Darbar Move starts, Civil Secretariat in Srinagar has also begun to witness thick attendance, for more better in comparison to only a couple of weeks back, thanks to the 'alluring' Move related TA/DA package that is drawing them in hordes to their workplaces which remained deserted for over three months. Sources said a large number of Secretariat employees who stayed away from their offices due to 'unrest' and even in its aftermath for many days have begun to show their faces in their respective offices both in Civil Secretariat and outside departments which shift between two capital cities with biannual practice of Darbar Move. While their attendance is getting thick lately, it is hardly making any difference on their output in terms of delivering , sources said adding that the momentum of work in the offices in the normal course around closure of the offices gets slow. Sources further said while the government has tightened noose on many employees so identified who purportedly stayed away from their duties even after the situation allowed them to come to offices, a number of employees have come up with their 'petitions' pleading they genuinely could not reach the offices. Some of them are learnt to have actually strictly adhered to the Separatists' calendar of agitations but following crackdown by the government they are fearing losing their jobs which is why they have started coming to offices regularly, sources said. However, a fat package of Move related allowances plus many other facilities and drawing of salaries in advance are major attractions which is making them stick to their work places, sources said. Pertinently every Durbar Move employee is entitled to Rs 15000 TA DA twice a year besides other perks associated with this practice. Moreover, a good number of employees are feeling upbeat as the date of shifting offices to Jammu is getting closer, said the sources adding that this is due to long darwn period of strikes, violent agitations and curfew which has left people fatigued and exhausted. The Move employees are relaxed and happy for a reason they would be able to stay in a tension free atmosphere for some months along with their families. This year the offices are closing on October 27 Thursday, Friday being a holiday. The offices will reopen in Jammu on November 7. |
