'Sinha Panel has no mandate of Modi Govt' | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 25: Yahwant Sinha panel which had held talks with separatists and are also scheduled to hold talk with the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti doesn't have the mandate of the Modi government. The members of the panel, including Sinha himself, are not the people who could have any bearing on the Kashmir policy of the Modi government. "Sinha had publicly stated that Modi government assumes him to be a dead-brain. Now, how could government listen to a person who is 'brain-dead'," said a senior official of the home ministry. There are lot of speculations in the home ministry about the reason for Sinha for joining hands with the people in his team, which have never ever advocated India's stance on the Kashmir. But, have been more than apologetic about the India's position on the Kashmir and have never ever shied away from painting India in black when it comes to Kashmir. "The track record of Kapil Kak is known to all. His past is very dubious when it comes to taking firm position on Kashmir and there are many more things about him. Wajahat Habibullah was the person who served Biryanis to terrorists holed up inside Hazaratbal and has been pandering to shot of azadi for the Kashmiris and less said about other two is good as all their views are in the public domain. And, they for sure are not in tune with the Indian especially Modi government's line on the Kashmir," said the official. The sources said one of the key ministers in the Modi government, who virtually controls the state politics cutting across parties and holds a strong clout in the PMO may had given the go-ahead for this panel. "There is strong possibility that some people, including influential ministers are not comfortable with the Kashmir policy of the Modi government. They have been toeing a certain line for quite long and that is well short of hard decisions. So there could be an attempt to sabotage the Kashmir policy of Modi government," said the official. |
