Inaugural Row: DC initiates probe into inauguration of Town Hall Rajouri 10/25/2016 10:23:09 PM Early Times Report Rajouri, Oct 25: Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri has initiated an inquiry into the inauguration newly constructed complex of Town Hall without any information to his office or to the office of Additional District Development Commissioner, who is also the Chairman of Rajouri Municipality. Here it needs to mention that the said complex was inaugurated by Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Vice Chairman Pahari Advisory Board (PAB) and Vibodh Gupta, MLC (both from BJP) on Monday along with their supporters in a function reportedly organized by the Executive Officer, Rajouri Municipality with the help of other officers. Local MLA Ch Qamar Hussain of PDP party, has expressed his resentment for not inviting him in the function and for not to follow the protocol. As per reports Monday afternoon he along with his supporters met with the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri and demanded probe in this regard and suspension of Municipality Officials within 24 hours. "No information about the inauguration of the Town Hall was provided to my office and nor to the office of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) , who is also the Chairman of Rajouri Municipality, by the Executive Officer (EO)Municipal Committee" said Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Deputy Commissioner. "After the inquiry a suitable action will be taken against the officials of the Municipality" said Deputy Commissioner. If recalled here that construction work for the newly constructed Town Hall complex started in the year 2010 at an estimated cost of Rs 282.0 lakhs hit the controversies when contractor had to suspended the work for about two years due to non-payment of the bills and now it is again in storm. According to some well informed sources Chairman, Rajouri District Development Board and Deputy Chief Minister had sought information from the Deputy Commissioner about the completion of this project so that it can be inaugurated by the Chief Minister/ senior Cabinet Minister.
