| HC asks DU to enrol CUJ's Asstt Prof for PhD | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 29: High court judge Dhiraj Singh Thakur has directed Delhi University to enroll the petitioner for full time Ph D programme in Management Studies, notwithstanding the fact that the formal letter of sponsorship as also the guarantee of study leave from the parent university -- Central University, Jammu (CUJ) -- are not made in favour of the petitioner.
The court directive came in a petition filed by Anjali Pathania, Assistant Professor in CUJ's Department of Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior, challenging order No CUJ/Regr/2016/1501 dated August 17, 2016, whereby her request for letter of sponsorship and guarantee of study leave for pursuing full time Ph D programme-2016 at DU was rejected by CUJ.
After hearing the two sides, Justice Thakur observed that the petitioner was selected for undergoing full time Ph D programme at DU. One of the conditions of enrolment of the said course was letter of sponsorship as also guarantee of study leave from the parent university and the case of the petitioner was rejected by CUJ.
Justice Thakur directed that pending final adjudication of the present writ petition, DU would enroll the petitioner for full time Ph D programme-2016 in Management Studies, notwithstanding the fact that the formal letter of sponsorship as also guarantee of study leave from the parent university are not made in favour of the petitioner. —(JNF) |
