Early Times Report

Jammu,Oct 29: Pakistan does not bother even if feels global isolation. Global Isolation is a major threat to developing and small nations but Pakistan does not bother about so long it has a fair weather friend in China.
During the last over 50 years China has been the lone supplier of military hardaware and economic assistance.Whatever,India gains by purchasing from various developed nations military equipment, arms, aircrafts and signs MOU for securing political and economic support from other nations China has the capacity to pump in larger sums of money and bigger quantity of military hardware. This way Pakistan does not bother if India's purchasing power and geopolitical influence increases, about its increasing global isolation when it comes to purchase of high-tech defence items, an American think-tank has said.
Over the long term, Pakistan may be unable to access the most advanced weapons systems in the global marketplace. Instead, it may have little choice but to continue to rely on Chinese and possibly Russian military systems, which may or may not be the most appropriate for Pakistan's defence needs," the Stimson Centre said in a report.
Pakistan's access to high-end technology could be constrained by India's purchasing power and growing geopolitical influence, the report entitled 'Military Budgets in India and Pakistan: Trajectories, Priorities, and Risks'.
American military aid accounted for 21 per cent of Pakistan's defence spending between 2002-2015, allowing the country to maintain high levels of military spending while easing the burden on its federal budget and overall economy.
"The US has begun to gradually downgrade its assistance to Pakistan in the near to medium term," it said, adding that the support in Washington for the bilateral relationship had declined as Pakistan seemed unable or unwilling to address concerns about violent extremist groups that directed their focus to Afghanistan and India.
India is a larger and more attractive market for global defense companies, and would continue to be for the foreseeable future, the report said, adding that the country had become the world's largest arms importer.
India accounted for 14 per cent of global arms imports from 2011-2015, a 90 per cent increase over the previous five years.
"Countries and companies which otherwise would be interested in having a defence relationship with Pakistan may be reluctant to do so out of concerns about falling out of favour in New Delhi," the report said.
"In the long run, Pakistan will have to make tough choices about purchasing big-ticket weapon systems unless it can do so at concessionary rates," it said..The only way for Pakistan is to keep global isolation miles away is to shut arms training camps for militants, stop using the soil of Pakistan for exporting terror to India, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
But Pakistan is not willing to do so because it believes that terrorists, whom the establishment in Islamabad besides the Army and ISI,nourish and nurse can be of greater help even before the Indian tanks. The Army and the ISI believe that these terrorists could be used to dislodge the elected civilian Government whenever they need it.The Army and the ISI have not to perform a yeoman's task.It has simply guide the terrorists to target vital Government installations and in the name of security and political crisis the Army could takeover the reigns of the Government from Nawaz Sharif,That is something different if the terrorists target Army convoys, camps and installations and still that could be used for unseating Nawaz Sharif.
