| Excise sleuths conducts raids, seizes 280 Kg Lahan & 112 pouches of illicit liquor | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Oct 29: Team of Excise Department of Jammu today raided in various areas of different district and seized 200 Kilograms Lahan, 112 pouches of illicit liquor made from Lahan, which is highly injurious, was recovered and then destroyed on spot. According to press rlease, the department has tightened its noose on violators of the various provisions of the J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu division. Under the active supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Mohammed ShahidSaleem, the Excise Team Kathua under the command of Excise and Taxation Officer,, Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta and Excise and Taxation Officer,, Eradication & Enforcement Wing Jammu Suresh Sharma raided the Parsochak and Chatrayla areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor. Meanwhile the Excise Team Udhampurand Eradication and Enforcement Wing Jammu under the command of Excise and Taxation Officer, Udhampur-Reasi Excise Range, NareshKoul, laid a joint naka on Jammu- Srinagar National highway to check the toll evasion. Almost hundred vehicles were put to check and an amount of Rs. 5400 was recovered as fine from toll evaders. |
