Bad road connectivity compounds miseries of people, 8000 souls suffer | | | M S NAZKI Early Times Report Poonch, Nov 16: The tall claims of the State government about providing of better road connectivity in remote and far flung areas fall flat when construction work on road from Harni Road to Nar comes to halt further compounding miseries of atleast 8000 souls living in the small hamlets in the locality. "Due to the pathetic condition of main road its link roads the commuters are facing huge inconvenience every day," the locals said, adding, "nearly 8000 people suffer due to road connectivity for past many years but none cared for their grievances," People hailing from Mohra kallar Nar Naka Manjhari Harni, Naka Manjhari, Upper Sangoite, Panchayats and locals have expressed resentment against PWD/ State government. 8000 people including 400 students who had to walk approximately 5 kms everyday on foot to reach their destinations is a simple mockery of leaders who often talk about Digital India. Rumi, a local added that students leave house four hours prior to school timings to reach in schools and colleges in time which not only eats up their time but also hampers their studies. He said that people face number of problems during emergency for medical care but despite assurance from NC MLA Mendhar Constituency) and XEn PWD Poonch, nothing has been done to redress the sufferings of people of the area. "The roads in the area are bumpy and dotted with potholes, another villager lamented and added even a small downpour inundates the village roads. "The problem gets compounded when the villagers have to ferry the patients as it takes hours to reach there even when you have your own vehicle at disposal," another local bemoaned. |
