SSWB appeals NGOs serve people in Banks, ATMs | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 16: In order to provide some relief to the people who are facing hardships due to change of Rs.1000 and Rs. 500 currency note and shortage of new currency notes in the bank, an emergency meeting of heads of various NGO's was called by the Chairperson, State Social Welfare Board (SSWB), Dr Nirmal Gupta. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr Nirmal Gupta and addressed by newly appointed Executive Director, SSWB, Sahid Mahmood along with the participation of heads of various NGOs. Speaking on the occasion, ED, Sahid Mahmood highlighted the various problems which are being faced by the people especially the old aged and handicapped persons, who are visiting the Banks and ATMs for withdrawing their money. He said, many people are unable to withdraw their own hard earned money deposited in the bank because they are unaware about the procedures to be followed for withdrawing their money and bank officials have not enough time to aware all people about such procedures. "So, it the responsibilities of volunteers of various NGO s to provide their services to such handicapped and old aged people, who are standing in the long queues inside these banks and ATMs to get their cash ," he said. |
