Use of obscene, vulgar stickers banned in mini buses | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 30: With an aim to make passengers comfortable while travelling, especially the women, Jammu Traffic Police have banned use of obscene and vulgar stickers on the mini buses. ''We had convened a detailed meeting with the mini bus operators and their owners wherein directions have been issued to them to remove all kinds of stickers particularly of obscene or vulgar nature,'' Rohit Baksotra, Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Jammu here said. Mr Baksotra said that sometimes stickers like 'miss you', 'love you', and more like make the passengers, especially the ladies, uncomfortable. ''Commercial vehicles should not be allowed to paste such stickers or photographs, which are not in the interest of society,'' he added. ''We have given 15 days time to the mini bus operators and in case, any such vehicle found with such type of pictures, will either be seized or fined,'' said the SP Traffic. He further said that apart from this, a drive is also being launched to keep check on noise pollution being spread by the mini bus operators by using loud music systems, which sometimes can cause fatal accident. Few days ago, traffic Police seized 30 mini buses and fined around 700 for violating the regulations. |
