Stranded train catches fire after short circuit in wiring at Rly station Banihal | | | Early Times Report Banihal, Nov 30 : A stranded train caught fire in Banihal Railway Station due to short-circuit in its wiring when it was started after more than three months long time period for mechanical checkup by the railway authorities . Reports said that the this train was stranded at Banihal Railway Station from past more than three and half months after the unrest starts in valley. On Wednesday when railway authorities starts the engine of this stranded train it caught fire due to some technical fault in its wiring however rail authorities immediately got control on the fire and save the train. Source said that during the trial start of the rail engine it caught the fire but the rail authorities and fire and emergency services with fire fighting equipments reached to the spot and got fast control on it and avoids a big loss. Sources within the department said that there was no technical staff present in Banihal Railway Station when the engine of this stranded train starts by the authorities. They said that the station master was present in the station but technical staff was not present when the engine of this train was started for mechanical checkup. Source said that it was a big negligence of the railway authorities if the bogies caught the fire there was no technical staff present in the station who can disconnect the engine from the bogies. |
