| Brothers held with 13 kgs poppy straw | | |

Udhampur, Dec8: In continuation of the drive against the drug./narcotics peddlers, Udhampur police today arrested two narcotics smugglers who happens to be brothers alongwith 13 kgs poppy straw (bukki) during a naka checking at Jakheni Chowk of Udhampur district.
According to police spokesperson, police team from Udhampur laid a naka checking along national highway and intercepted a truck bearing Registration No PB10BP-7321. "During through search of the said truck, police team recovered 13 kgs of poppy straw, police said, adding "police team arrested the two occupants of the vehicle and seized the truck and the contraband as well."
The accused have been identified namely as Buta Singh (driver) and his associate Gulab Singh both sons of Arjun Singh of Pogu Pura Kapurtala (Punjab).
A case under section 8/15 NDPS act stands registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur and further investigations are on. |
