Udhampur, Dec 8: Udhampur Police have claimed to have achieved a major success by working out three theft cases with the arrest of four thieves besides recovery of five 05 two wheelers i.e. 03 Scotties and 02 motorcycles.
"The accused have been identified as Ajay Singh @ Khanda S/o Raj Singh R/o Paryot, Mongri A/P Jakheni Udhampur, Aryan Verma S/o Vikas Verma R/o Barrian Udhampur, Ajay Singh S/o Balbir Singh R/o Shiv Nagar, Udhampur and Vicky S/o Naseebo R/o Sambal Danga, police said.
Addressing a press conference here today in Udhampur, Shailendra Mishra, (IPS) SSP Udhampur said that three cases of vehicle thefts were reported in Police Station Udhampur in which 03 Scotties were stolen.
"Accordingly, FIR Nos 388, 403, 404 of year 2016 u/s 379/RPC were registered in Police Station Udhampur and a team of Police Officers/Officials of P/S Udhampur under the command of SHO Police Station Udhampur was constituted and a massive hunt was launched to apprehend these bike lifters, senior police official said.
SSP said, "During the course of raids and based on some reliable inputs, Police apprehended four accused persons who were subjected to cross questioning and thorough interrogation."
"During the course of sustained interrogation, the suspects broke down and confessed the commission of crime, SSP said.
SSP Udhampur Mishra said, "On their disclosure, all the three scooties were recovered and two more motorcycles were recovered from the possession of these thieves."
"Further investigation of the case is going on and the involvement of these thieves in some other theft cases cannot be ruled out, he added. |
