Rs 2000 cr package for DPs as installment hailed by JKSAC | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 8: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) lauded the role of Central Govt. & Coalition govt. of State led by Mehbooba Mufti for getting released Rs. 2000 crore and package for DP's of 1947 from POK & other categories and also urged upon State Govt. to prepare a road map within three months period taking into account all the issues pertaining to both the govts for one time settlement of DP's so that relief compensation could be calculated & disbursed in one go along with other benefits to end their seven decades old sufferings. While addressing the media, Gurdev Singh (President) along with Netar Prakash & other senior leaders welcomed the news appeared through govt. sources in print media that Rs. 2000 crore is only a part of relief compensation, but not full and final settlement. He termed it very encouraging gesture from govt side but added that if govt's intensions are clear, then why they hesitate to decide the adequate quantum of relief compensation and its simultaneous disbursement in one go instead of piece meals. The state govt. should avail the advantage of magnanimity shown by Narendra Modi who assured to provide more funds if asked by govt. for the said purpose. He further reiterated that a road map should be prepared separately for each category & quantum of relief compensation be calculated taking into account loss of lives & properties suffered by each category of DP's. He added that while doing so the govt. should not forget that DP's of 1947 from POK are the worst sufferers. If unbiased view is taken, it would be found that they have no similarity with any of the other category. He expressed his anguish for overlooking the most significant component of package of reservation for wards of DP's in Central govt. services & technical institutions as was recommended by previous state govt. & JPC. Dwarka Nath (President), Balbir Singh 'Ajji' (Secretary), Nirmal Singh Kranti (Vice President) have been nominated for Jammu District. Others who participated are Master Yograj, Mukesh Sharma, Rajesh Khajuria, Harbans Singh, Makhan Singh, Harjeet Singh, Madan Lal, Makhan Lal, Santokh Singhand Mohinder Singh Khalsa. |
