Illegal settlement of tribals in Jammu region will prove catastrophic for them: JKFFA
3/11/2018 10:30:47 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 11: Expressing serious concern over the purported instructions to the Government machinery not to take action against illegal settlement of land grabbers in the guise of tribal community, Jammu Kashmir Freedom Fighter Association (JKFFA), Shri Ram Sena along with several other organisations today protested against BJP-PDP Govt terming the development as Government sponsored move for demographic change of Jammu region.
Speaking to media persons on the occasion, Shri Ram Sena State President, Rajiv Mahajan said that such a decision will prove disastrous for Gujjar community whose livelihood is dependent on sale of milk and milk products and in case if the decision is implemented, none of the Dogras will take milk from Gujjars which in turn will prove fatal for the community.
Mahajan further said that in wake of implementation of aforesaid decision, nobody in the Jammu region in general and in Jammu in particular will provide an inch of land to construct their temporary homes and for their cattle fearing the encroachment of their land especially the trust deficit as has been developed after the ill-conceived decision by Chief Minister.
Mehbooba Mufti must understand that the proposed implementation of decision will do no good for tribal community and on the contrary the communal harmony existing for decades together between Gujjars and Dogras will be shattered ant it may result in communal violence and disruption of peace in Jammu.
Mahajan appealed the Gujjar community to come on roads to protest the decision as a deliberate attempt is being made to pit them against Dogras at the cost of their survival and existence in Jammu. He said Dogras are not against Gujjar community and in favour of their development and wellbeing but any attempt to change the demography of Jammu with such decision will be seriously protested and agitated and the consequences of same will be the responsibility of Govt which has taken the anti Jammu decision.
Reacting over the innocence claims of BJP Minister Ajay Nanda that he was not aware of the content in the decision and put his signature on the decision unknowingly, Mahajan termed his clarification as mere lame excuse.
